Beware the Ides of March
It’s the Ides of March here, but will only be the Ides tomorrow back home. This is all very confusing.
The weather has turned quite cold as we head further south, so no sunbathing today alas. I made up for it by starting on yet another craft project – a little bag to hold lavender sachets. Then when I get home I can plant lavender again (my previous plants died), and fill it. At least that’s the plan. The project is quite easy, but fiddly – it’s called Norwegian Hardanger, and the sample looks very nice, mine could be described as unique, and lacking in symmetry. I think Brian is concerned that we will need yet another suitcase for all of my craft projects. Well, I am having fun.
Our noisy neighbors have disembarked, and our balcony is a peaceful place once more. We watched dolphins from there this afternoon. It is too cold to stay out for a long time, so I have been content with watching the view from our sofa, while Brian did his afternoon walk. I retreated back inside after one lap around the Promenade deck, as it was way too cold to be walking today.
We were invited to a party tonight – the Virtuoso Club party. You can always depend on Deidre to come through. And she did. No dancing, but just a lovely hour or so of conversation with interesting people and ship’s officers in Hemispheres.
When we passed through the Grand Lobby, Hannah was playing her harp. There are many things I will miss about this ship when I disembark, but one of the main ones will be the pleasure of listening to her in the late afternoon. Her playing is total perfection.
