A Spaniard in the Works is John Lennon’s second book. I read it over and over again as a teenager, most of it made no sense at all, but somehow it really appealed to me. So when I opened the email asking if I wanted to go to Barcelona, I thought: that really puts a Spaniard in the Works. Here I was all excited about our Virgin Voyages cruise, all prepared to shake for my champagne, and then this comes up.
I had the opportunity to fly to Barcelona and join the Seabourn Sojourn for a 7 day cruise to Rome. The catch? The ship sails on September 4th.
So that is why I am currently sitting in Heathrow Airport, awaiting our flight to Barcelona. It was all a bit of a rush packing for the trip (I clearly needed more than shorts and T shirts), arranging last minute flights (not cheap), getting a COVID test and working out how to complete the online form to enter Spain. But here we are. If all goes well we will board the Sojourn in a few hours. It’s going to be interesting sailing on Seabourn for 7 days before boarding the Scarlet Lady. I like that life is never boring………….
How fabulous. I have been on a few Seabourn cruises (albeit a fair time ago) and they were fabulous. Look forward to hearing about your journey. For sure it will be very different to the Scarlet Lady!
Wow! This ship is beautiful. I am loving it so far 🙂
Wow! A ‘virgin’ voyage on Seabourn!
Ha Ha! Very good 🙂
