At Sea

January 15th, 2025

After the excitement of the past 3 days, a sea day was a welcome respite.

The sea was calm, the sun was shining, it was hot, but there was a cooling breeze. It was a perfect sea day.

Nothing much was accomplished; a lot of food was consumed. I helped deplete the ship’s champagne reserves. We didn’t star at trivia, but the popcorn was good. The talks were interesting. I did some laundry.

All in all, you really couldn’t ask for anything more – I can get used to this.

Yesterday we had discovered that the 4 young South Africans who had shared the banana boat experience with us were part of this segment’s entertainment team.

One of the women was Corlea Botha, a well-known singer. When we had last seen her, she was totally drenched and clinging on to the banana boat for dear life.

Tonight she looked amazing, and she gave a fantastic performance. She has a beautiful and powerful voice. It was such a pleasure to hear her.

After the show I returned to our suite thinking that indeed nothing out of the ordinary had happened today. Nothing that Brian and I will giggle about later. No secrets, no intrigue, just a wonderful relaxing day at sea. I can so get used to this.
