About Safarigal
I was born in Kenya and grew up in East Africa and Malta. I love to travel and experienced my first ocean voyage at age 3 and my first round-the-world trip at age 9. Growing up in Kenya, I had the opportunity to experience safaris in all of East Africa’s game parks, and I have travelled to many public and private game reserves in Southern, Central and East Africa. I have also experienced adventure travel in Africa, summiting both Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, and trekking after mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda. When not on safari my other passion is ocean cruising, and I have been fortunate enough to voyage all over the world.
On finishing high school, I wanted to travel. However, having failed to make the grade as a flight attendant, I threw myself into a career in the medical field. That is all behind me now, and I am presently enjoying the ability to help others to fulfill their travel dreams by translating my experience in safari adventures and ocean voyages into memorable travel experiences for our clients as a travel advisor at Irlam Travel.
I love to share my adventures with others, and hopefully give them some insight into what to expect on their own exciting travels. I hope reading my blog will be helpful, and inspire others to follow their dreams.
As Karen Blixen wrote: “There is something about safari life that makes you forget all your sorrows and feel as if you had drunk half a bottle of champagne — bubbling over with heartfelt gratitude for being alive”. I totally agree, and feel the same way when sailing the seven seas and exploring the world.
