Brian has taken to working out in the gym every morning. I am not in favor of working up a sweat, and enjoy the extra time in bed. The gym is quite small, but he has always been able to find an elliptical trainer.
There is an area of the Chart Room reserved for world voyage passengers, and we decided to spend the morning there. The pastries and fruit kebabs are a perfect post breakfast snack. With sandal weather on the horizon, I headed up to the spa for a pedicure. Very nice, but not cheap, and I was put off by them trying to sell me some potion for my toes for a mere $41. I was able to resist, and rushed off to the next choir practice.
On returning to our cabin, there was another world voyage gift on our bed – 2 world voyage pins and a map of our itinerary. The map is great and now replaces the one that I had printed up previously. Thank goodness for all of the magnets Brian bought. Our wall is now looking like a 2nd grade classroom.
I am so glad that you can now walk around the QV promenade deck. Despite the wind and wet we did 6 laps, but I still have not achieved my FitBit goal of 10,000 steps a day. I’ll just have to do better tomorrow.
We went around to friends’ cabin for a pre-dinner drink. The have a disabled cabin on deck 8, and it is huge, with a big balcony – a very nice cabin indeed. They are also very nice people.
Dinner was excellent again. After dinner we had to decide between hearing (and dancing to) Exxile playing songs from the 60s and 70s in the Queen’s Room, and listening to Clare Langan, a flautist in the theatre. We thought that Exxile would probably repeat their 60s/70s night, but that Clare would be disembarking in Hamilton, so we went to see her. We had seen her before on QM2 and had really enjoyed her show, and tonight we were just as pleased with her performance. Clare is an excellent flautist, but also has so much energy it is a joy to listen to and watch her.
So proud of Brian. He may be the only person I know to return from this kind of cruise fit and trim! The pastry and kabob snacks might be highly addictive but, then again, as the saying goes, “Life is short. Eat dessert first!” Cruise on, my dear.
Wish you guys were with us!
We absolutely do as well!! You’ve inspired us. Looks as if we’re headed (in our typical spur of the moment decision-making) to China in April!
