At Sea
Today was a totally lazy day. We had clear blue skies and a gentle breeze. We spent the whole day at the Lido pool reading, drinking a Pina Colada, and did little else until it was time for our walk around the deck.
The band Synergy, who has replaced Exxile, played great sunbathing reggae music at the pool at lunchtime, and there was also Name that Tune, and a Trivia quiz, so we did get entertained, and exercise our brains as we sunned ourselves.
Our equator experiments continued, and today at 3 degrees, 59.7 south, the Q-tip rotated in a clockwise fashion – so our science has shown us that north of the equator it goes anticlockwise, on the equator it is equivocal, and south the rotation is clockwise. We will go to the library to look up the phenomenon in the encyclopedia to assess whether our results coincide with the scientific facts.
People had warned us that we would get very bored with so many sea days on the itinerary. We have simply not found this to be accurate. One of the joys of a long cruise is that you don’t feel pressured to do everything, and go to everything, as there is always time to do it later. There is more than enough to keep us busy and happy every day, and we just haven’t had the time to get bored. We even felt a bit guilty about reading all day. However, I can’t remember when we were last able to do something like that. It is an incredibly wonderful feeling!
We really enjoyed Synergy when we were on last, used to go and listen to them in Hemispheres. We on QV in June after her refit, do you know how long they are on for? Ta xx
Where did Synergy embark? When on QV last year they had changed their vocalist and bass player. I hope they are on in April.
They embarked in Fort Lauderdale. I’ll let you know when they plan to disembark!
